Welcome to Painted Sky's 1st grade music class. We are going to have a great year!

We are going to travel to many different countries this year to learn about their music.

We have already visited Japan. Students listened about the Yoshida Brothers (you can view their video on youtube "Yoshida Brothers - Rising" And what Japanese frogs say.

We have visited Australia. Students listened to the song "Waltzing Matilda" (you can view this song on youtube "Waltzing Matilda" by Slim Dusty Ask your child what a "didgeridoo" is, and what it sounds like.

We are now visiting France. We are learning "Friar a Jacques" and "Bridge at Avignon" (both you can find in children friendly versions on youtube) Ask your child what a "Hurdy Gurdy" is.

Next we will be visiting Russia. Hope you'll come along.
